read moreHi, I'm Yovanny Duran.
I faced poverty and many challenges growing up in the Dominican Republic and in Brooklyn, NY but there were always others who were less fortunate than me. Experiencing periods of food insecurity and homelessness at a young age inspires me to seek ways to meet the needs of others.
I am intimidated to get out of my comfort zone and ask others to help me fundraise, but I am very excited to be an advocate and a voice for the poor and needy with Hoops for Hope (an event in which we play basketball for 24 hours). Funds will go towards supporting the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital (SKMH), the Boston Teen Police Academy (BTPA), and HOPE Worldwide Mass. The Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital (SKMH) provides quality medical care to those in need in Cambodia. The Boston Teen Police Academy (BPTA) breaks down barriers between teens and the police. HOPE Worldwide Massachusetts brings continuous support to communities throughout greater Boston with different programs.
Please join me and help me reach my goal of raising $1,000. Every dollar helps and is very appreciated. Thank you all!
